WOW!!!
Today was C.J.'s 2 month appointment with his doctor. I cannot believe he was born exactly 2 months ago today. In a lot of ways it seems like it has been longer, but in so many other ways it seems like he was born just a couple of days ago. While I was waiting for the doctor to come into the room I layed my baby boy on the table and started to play with him. Suddenly he looked away and started to stretch funny and then (with a little effort) he rolled over onto his tummy! I was so excited and shocked that I literally started to jump up and down and shout "yeah!" over and over again while clapping my hands. I hurried and turned him over and yelled, "Do it again! Do it again!" (I know how cheesy this all is, but I am a first time mom, so you have to give me some credit). Then the doctor walked in to view the remnants of this display of ecstasy. I was even too excited to be embarrassed.
If that wasn't enough, later tonight I was holding him in a sitting possition when I noticed that he wasn't leaning on my hands for support so I let go and *Woo-Hoo* he held himself up for a good 30+ seconds (long enough for me to call DH into the room for him to see it happening for a few seconds)!
Today has been so amazing for me! I feel bad about his shot and everyhting, but I have been so happy about the rest of it that (for this proud mom, anyway) it by far surpasses all of the difficulties.

C.J. and the Big Day (Sunday)
Sunday morning went really well. CJ took his bath and got all ready for his big day with a smile on his face (most of the time). We took lots of pictures just because he was being so darn cute.
(We were laughing so hard every time he made a new face).Despite the worries expressed by some of my family, things went really great all day. CJ didn't even fuss during the blessing and he slept a lot all afternoon (I didn't find out until closer to midnight that he was coming down with the flu).
All day everyone kept going on and on about his blessing outfit. I was so happy. I love looking at my baby boy! He always brings such joy to my heart.

I still want to get some professional pictures of him taken in this outfit, but these will have to do for now. What can I say? Life is just good right now! ;-)

Blessing My Baby
I am getting so excited for Sunday (technically tomorrow, although this is still Friday night for me... it is 1:49 AM and I just tucked my baby and my baby's daddy in bed). We are going to be blessing our first baby boy in Sacrament meeting. Today I went out with my mother-in-law and purchased the absolute cutest baby tuxedo for the occasion. I have been looking forward to buying those kinds of things for him ever since I found out that I was having a boy.
We found the tux (I wish I could have purchased about 3 other formals along with it, but this was the best of the best) and then we asked if they had shoes to go with it. The closest thing they had was about twice the size of his little foot. Then we went to another store to look for shoes and the closest thing they had was little white baby booties, so we bought those. Then as we were about to leave the mall, I saw a Payless Shoestore and I decided to give them a try.
*Tah-Dum!!!* BINGO *cheering and applause*
I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. Tomorrow we are going to try to get some pictures of C.J. showing off his new threads. Last time we went to get pictures of him, he cried every time we put him down. We'll see if he is a little less clingy now.
I have had so many people trying to talk me out of having the blessing day be this Sunday; they are saying that it will be too much or that I won't be able to handle everything because I am still recovering from the surgery and everything or that I am not going to be able to enjoy everybody being there. I even have had a family member offer not to come at all "out of respect for [me] and [my] feelings." I just wish that everybody would trust me to make my own decisions about what I want and can handle. I am still recovering, but I feel like I can handle this thing. I am a pretty layed back person (most of the time) and I am not worried about everything going "perfectly" or being the "perfect" hostess (I know my limits and I know I need to take care of myself enough so that I can be a good mother and wife). I also do really well around people and I feel like it is good for me to be socializing right now instead of feeling sorry for myself. And I really prefer to have my whole family together to support the three of us. Anyway, I guess I don't want to try justifying myself to myself any more.
Suffice it to say that I can't wait to show off the new love of my life.

Gall Bladder
Yesterday I went to the hospital and woke up with four holes in my stomache and missing my gall bladder. I just remember them telling me that I would start feeling a little dizzy (which I don't remember feeling) and the next thing I knew, a woman's voice was saying, "It's okay, Ginger. You have to hold still so I can give you some pain medicine in your IV." It was then that I realized that I could hear my own voice moaning and soon afterward I could tell that I was moving back and forth. Everyone kept acting like it was really sad that I was in so much pain, but it was nothing compared to the 6 gall bladder attacks I had already been through. They showed me the laparoscopic before and after pictures of my gall bladder, and I was all excited to put them here on the blog. Unfortunately, however, the hospital said that the pictures had to stay there in my files. :-( So, this is the best substitute I could find online.

I had to check in at 7:30 AM and my baby wasn't allowed to come for obvious reasons. I just felt bad because I wasn't let out until around 5:30 PM. It was the longest I have ever been away from my beautiful baby boy. I am just so grateful for Tamra (my hero) being so willing to nurse C.J. I missed him like crazy, but I knew he was being well taken care of.
I also have to mention that my mother-in-law (seen here holding Caio) and my brother-in-law came over this morning and stayed with me all day to help take care of me and my baby. I was so grateful for everything they did. Who would have guessed!?! I'm so glad I have the best kind of in-laws.

My New Page
I finally have my own BLOG and I don't know if I know quite what to do with it, but I figure I will try my best.My name is Ginger and I have the best husband in the world. His name is Marcio and he is from Sao Paulo, Brazil. We sat next to each other in college for an entire semester before either of us ever spoke to the other. Ever since that first conversation, however, we have had a difficult time ending every conversation since. We believe in home birthing, home schooling, breast feeding, and a lot of other things that I have been instructed and informed are "not normal."
About one year and a half after our marraige we had our first baby--a boy!!! He is five-weeks-old right now, his name is Caio James (C.J.)and yes! he was born with that much hair. He has been quite the experience. After 4 days of pro dromo labor I was transfered to the hospital and on day 5 I delivered with the help of a caesarean. He is breastfeeding pretty well now and has begun smiling frequently and laughing occasionally. We are still getting a kick out of the noises that he makes and the little things he does. I am trying to get things together to figure out how to be a good mom and am hoping that I don't completely ruin his life. If I do, hopefully he can recover. ;-)
